Panzer Division Flak Units

#1

Post by maxtrap1 » 31 Jul 2016, 12:47

Morning all,

I'm aware that as the war progressed the Germans increased the level of air defence within their panzer divisions.

What I'm struggling to establish is, where these flak units were a permanent fixture within a panzer divisions OOB, what where the uniforms worn by the crews of those Flak units (whether they be at company or battalion strength)?

I'm led to believe they wore the standard Heer uniform including collar patches, shoulder straps and insignia. But what colour was the Waffenfarb?

Was it white like the infantry? Pink as with the panzertruppen? or red similar to that of the artillery?

While your at it, did the panzer divisions ever have their own integrated towed 88mm batteries? Despite searches I have yet to see an 88mm flak crew in a Heer uniform!

Any assistance gratefully received.

While I don't know much about uniforms, these OOB's should answer your non-uniform related questions:
