Hipo cap, enlisted man

#5

Post by Hallandsen » 03 Apr 2005, 17:01

Hi
Hipo used uniforms from the former danish police to some extent, but also uniforms form the former danish Wachkorps der Luftwaffe in Dänemark, called the "Sommer Corps" guarding Lufwaffen plants in DK, and lead by a former danish see-pilot Poul Sommer.

This cap is a former danish police, the button are marked V-F on the back, and can bee taken out by a clip.
On both sides ar e two small lion-buttons silvered-
An enlisted grade where for transcriptors, you could be in the HIPO from your year of 17,- but also members born in 1927-30 participated-they where used as guards round the police HQ in Copenhagen where the uniformed HIPO where on duty.

No stamps in the cap, but marked with Seifert, Copenhagen, that made danish police caps.

Hallandsen

You have some nice items there. Meantime is there a chance you can make a better quality scan (close-up) of the Schalburg Cross shown on the award document?

Thank you.

I actually said "In my opinion I have some doubts concerning originality the award documents", I suspect the text (of the central disc on the Schalburg Cross) shown on the award document is a Xerox photocopy - not implying you made the document. Of course my suspicion can easily be a total mistake and a nice close-up picture of the the award document Schalburg Cross can show I'm completely wrong and I would be more than pleased if that's the case. Would it be possible to post a more detailed picture just to avoid any doubts - please?

By the way here is the link to my comments on the other Forum: http://www.wehrmacht-awards.net/forums/ ... hp?t=94835
And here is the link to the compartive photos I made on this Forum: http://forum.axishistory.com/viewtopic.php?t=74220
