hi,

right answer, wrong question - ASKOLD was not a Ship of the Line, but, as you said, a cruiser.

Hi Aleks,
I believe this picture depicts where the British sub-marine B-11 torpedos and sinks the Ottoman Cruiser Mesudiye on 13.12.1914.

It was the name given to the h/q unit of von der Goltz Paşa when he was in Baghdad whilst the letter "P" stood for "Persien"
A new one,
What was the name of the Group formed by several Russian Divisions which was to be commissioned as the 6. Army Corps by November, 1916 ? They were in operations attacking Turkish positions to the south west of Erzurum in order to attain Çapagcur (i.e. present day Bingöl) albeit in vain.

hi, Osman,

a hint in between ... before just giving the answer and putting forth a new question ... would have been ... nice ...

Obviously my latest quiz was a bit off the charts. The 6th Army Corps of the Russian Caucasian Army in operations in Eastern Turkey during First World War had initially been formed as the Vrobiev Group.

You are right Marcus, this must continue. Here's a new one;
Why did Goeben and Breslau become part of the Ottoman Coast Guard instead of the Ottoman Navy ?
