Thanks Bill. Been a bit busy and lazy.

There is no mention of this officer in Der Weltkrieg volume IX. However, a list of German officer officers accompanying the First Suez offensive is provided in a footnote in Jildrem page 15. The officers (besides Kress) are Col Trommer, Majors Hunger and Laufen, and Captains v.d. Hagen, Gerlach, Heiben and Rittermeister Welsch. Hagen's demise is briefly mentioned on page 17 and is described simply as an 'heroic death' (heldentod).
