Those gorgets are really rare sight, even in pictures. I have seen one at the last month's antique bazaar, but could not be sure if it was real.

Hi
About cuff insignia, there are two divergent views...
One view these cuff insignia was used only by gendarms, and other view was used by all ottoman army..
Jandarma Elbise Nizamnamesi (regulation of the gendarmerie dress) , 9 May 1909, article 43. about cuff insignia, so for most turkish sources cuff was only by gendarmes..
Article 45. corporal 1 broad band, sergeant 1 broad band and one narrow band, assistant sergeant-major two broad band and sergeant major three broad band.

The Ottoman script on the gorget is "İnzibat-ı Askeriye" not "kanun neferi"
Cheers

Yes I know. Thank you İnfantry.. I wrote "Kanun Neferi" (Law soldier) because I used to hear from my late father Majgen Ahmet Hulki Saral (P.1340-7) always calling "Kanun Neferi".
