Mates,

I was wondering if you have bio details on this Turkish officer?

My records show Maj Alaaddin as Chief of Staff 4th Infantry Div (2nd Corps) under LtCol Cemil Bey (cronk) during the fighting at Gallipoli, but he disappears from my records after that.

Do you kno what happened to him?

Cheers

Steve

Alaaddin (Koval) had a long career.

CofS 4th Infantry Division (Major) 1915-1916

CofS 2nd Corps (Major) 1917

Cdr 5th Kalfas Division (Lieutenant Colonel) 1917-1918

Cdr 55th Division (Lieutenant Colonel) 1920. Resign his command on 21 July 1920 because he was defeated.

Cdr 41st Division (Colonel) in 1922 during the Grand Offensive.

Retired as a Divisional General, but I don’t know when.

Mate,

Many thanks for the details on General Alaaddin I notice I did have him recorded in the 5th Caucasus Division

Col Selahattin Bey - LtCol Alaaddin - Mürsel Pasa

He must have replaced Colonel Salahattin and was later rep[laced by LtCol Mursel Pasa (German) in 1918?

Steve

Yes I have Çolak H. Selahattin (KÖSEOĞLU) (Colonel) commanding in 1916-1917.

Then Alaaddin 1917-18

Then Müsel (BAKÜ). My info has him as a Turkish officer, not German. He took command of the 5th Kalfas on 28 March 1918.
