Mates,

I was woundering if you have any details on how many senior officers were named Rifat Bey during the war?

I have a number of men so named that maybe the same or different men?

6th Regt - Maj Rifat Bey (commander) in 2 Div date unknown?

14th Regt - LtCol Ali Rifat (commander) in 5th Div date 1914 untill Maj Ismail Hakki (Oktürk) took command

43rd Regt - LtCol Rifat Bey (commander) in 14th Div date unknown?

120th Regt- LtCol Rifat Bey (commander) in 40th Div date unknown?

133rd Regt- Maj Rifat Bey (commander) in 41st Div date unknown?

In his book Erickson talks about a Maj Rifat who commanded the Heavy Artillery Group at Helles during the fighting in August 1915 but I could find no officer so named in the Artillery, can you find who he maybe?

Any ideas on who these officers are and when they served.

Tosun, my friend,

Many thanks again for checking for me.

And for finding who Maj Rifat in the Arty is.

Nice to confirm names to units.

Cheers
