LtCol Nasuhi Bey, an Syrian Arap officer joined the Arap Revolt after he was taken POW at Nablus. Until the defeat at Nablus he served the Ottoman state with all honour. He joined the kingdom of Hasimite Jordan as an officer. He was called NASUHI BEY BEYDOUN (Beidoun) In 1935 he was awarded by the King

Nasuhi al-Bukhari is not our LtCol Nasuhi Bey
A Nasuhi Bey who was captured by Russians before Sarikamiş Battle is not also our Nasuhi Bey.
Lt.Col. Nasuhi Bey was made commander of 7th Div after Staff Col Kazım bey (MajGen Dirik) left the command on Feb 1st 1917

Tosun,

As to the officer named Nasuhi Bey when captured by the Russians was he commanding at Regt or just a field officer?

Is LtCol Nasuhi Bey the same man who commanded these Divisions?

LtCol Nasuhi Bey last commander 9th Div when disbanded in Aug 1916, and

LtCol Nasuhi Bey who commanded the 54th Div during 1917? shown Col von Kisling (German) 1916 - LtCol Nasuhi Bey - Col Cemil Bey (Conk)

LtCol Nasuhi Bey commanded 7th Div 1917/18 in Palestine

I see the problem, if he commanded the 7th Div Feb 1917 then what was he doing in the 54th Div in Palestine 1917?

Any idea of his service history?

Cheers

We are discussing still here in Ankara if Nasuhi Bey was Beydoun or El-Buhari. Von Sanders writes in his book 5 Jahre Türkei he was El-Buhari. No Turkish source says his famili name.

On Dec 24th 1914 Staff Lt.Col. Nasuhi Bey CoS of 10th AC was taken POW by the russians. Guze wrote in his book " After a long POw Nasuhi Bey escaped from Sibiria via Chine, Japan,USA and returned to Turkey. After a long 1,5 years he was again at East front." This means that LtCol Nasuhi Bey C of 9th Div in April-July Battles in 1916 is the same person.

We have a Nasuhi Bey as C of 54th Div. 54th Div demolished at the beginning of 1918

LtCol Nasuhi Bey was made C of 7th Div.
TS's note: All Nasuhi are same person. But we dont know his family name or reputation. Thanks to Atatürk that we have a civil law and no reputation but family name.

Tosun,

Again thank you that clears up our man.

Interesting Turkish records record the loss of commander and 8 senior officers captured when 9th Corps defeated at Sarikamis Dec 1914.

Which include

Col Ali Ihsan Pasha (Sokmen) 9th Corps HQ

Köprülülü Serif Bey 8-14 PoW Jan 1915 CofS 9th Corps HQ

But who the other 8 officers are is unknown

They may relate to the other officers in the 9th Corps also reported PoW, like all three commanders of the 17th, 28th and 29th Div's and other Regt Commanders or other officers of the 9th Corps.

Surprisingly I also have little to no details on the officers of the 10th Corps;

like who commanded these Regts?

1-3/88th Regt 1-3/89th Regt 1-3/90th Regt
1-3/91st Regt 1-3/92nd Regt 1-3/93rd Regt
1-3/94th Regt 1-3/95th Regt 1-3/96th Regt

Or what happened to the Divisional commanders?

According to my sources about Nasuhi Al-Bukhari

He became commander of Division in the Ottoman army in Palestine (Division was not mentioned) until the end of war, after the war he served in the army of King Faisal became garrison commander of Aleppo.

Look at the faces.

Two seem similar, is it right?

By the way, there were a few Syrian and Iraqi officers who have served in the Jordanian army between 1921 and 1940.

My Information about Nasuhi Al-Bukhari says that he was exercising political activity in Syria until 1928 and returned to political activity since 1939.

I have not any Information about him between 1928 and 1939.
