Thanks, R.B.

It seems that Vopish's tracks (see previous page) are offered for sale too. The lowlives also unsuccessfully copied various discographical info I wrote in the AHF, and attributed them to the wrong tracks, trying to make their phoney info look more "authentic" I guess. They even copied some of my typos, which I didn't have the time to correct  Note: they are also claiming copyright to these tracks!

One thing is for sure: because of such people and behavior, I -and many others as well- will hardly place another file online.

Great selection of songs, not so great quality but hey, what do you expect from this old of music? Am I right? :D
Beautiful pieces however, I'm a sucker for brass.

Where to find mp3 recordings of 78 rpm records?

#25

Post by D-General » 10 Jul 2019, 17:20

Hello everyone, I would just like to ask if there is a good place to find mp3 recordings of 78 rpm records of German Music(Kaiser Reich to III Reich), cause if you guys didn’t know already, most of the main channels who provide these mp3 recordings on YouTube are now gone. So it would be greatly appreciated if any of you can point me to a good website, archive, etc... Where I can find mp3 recordings like these again. Thanks?

Hello,

These are the legal sites (apolitical, with sound files digitized/shared by their owners) that I know of / could remember at the moment:
www.dismarc.org
www.gramofononline.hu
www.russian-records.com

Cheers,
Ivan

Note: DO NOT share links to pirate/political mp3 websites here, they will be deleted.

Thanks Ivan, but I’m really looking for Kaiser Reich soldiers songs and III Reich songs, not civilian songs, since that’s what’s mostly in these websites. But thanks for your help anyway, I really appreciate it!

There is military/war music in all of those websites. Not too much though - which I fully support. War propaganda music shouldn't be spread around in large quantities.

Some of the records with military/march music that I found at gramofononline.hu (years ago; I'm sure there's much more):

My main interest is mostly III Reich Music and just some Kaiser Reich music here and there. I do agree that these political and war propaganda songs shouldn’t be over promoted since people tend to misjudge these songs and they usually get the wrong idea and it can really mess with their opinions and stance in politics since not many people fully understand these songs. For me, I just really like these songs just because the tune is catchy, I don’t really always support the political message these songs carry. Anyways, I just wanted to share my opinion, if there are other good sources I would appreciate it if you point me out to more of them, but I do appreciate you help Ivan, have a nice day!

There's quite a few recordings (and even rarities) of your interest at dismarc.org. When searching, go to "advanced search"; type, for example, "marsch" or "marschlied" (without quotation marks) in one box and a record label used during the Third Reich period in another (Gloria, Odeon, Telefunken, Electrola, Polydor, Grammophon etc), and check the little box "audio and more" below. Happy hunting!

(Don't forget to check whether there's more than one page with search results, at the bottom, on the left.)

Some of the wartime military/propaganda/patriotic music found at dismarc.org (and there's more from the prewar Third Reich):

Electrola EG 7200 ORA 5189-2 Die Siegfriedlinie (Ganss) * a very rare record
Electrola EG 7200 ORA 5190-1 Im Osten nun marschieren wir (Steinkopf)
Electrola EG 7213 ORA 5247-1 Feldpost für Annchen (Schönicke)
Electrola EG 7213 ORA 5248-2 Heimweh (Schultze)
Electrola EG 7227 ORA 5306-2 Piloten (Ramming)
Electrola EG 7227 ORA 5307-2 Da draußen am Hafen (Engel-Berger)
Electrola EG 7241 ORA 5309-2 Der Vater steht draußen im Felde (Reckeweg)
Electrola EG 7241 ORA 5394-1 Lied der Schiffswache (Kleine)
Electrola EG 7256 ORA 5574-2 Glocken der Heimat (Bochmann)
Electrola EG 7256 ORA 5575-3 Nachtlied (Bochmann)
Gloria GO-27827a Bi 3642 Weichsel und Warthe (Schmidt)
Gloria GO-27827b Bi 3639 Dies Land bleibt deutsch (Stieberitz)
Kristall 2158 KC 28763 Panzer rollen in Afrika vor (Schultze)
Kristall 2158 KC 28764 Vorwärts nach Osten! (Schultze)
Odeon O-26399a Be 12659 Bomben auf Engelland (Schultze)
Odeon O-26399b Be 12660 Kamerad, wir marschieren im Westen! (Niel)
Odeon O-26428a Be 12721 Pandurenmarsch (Doelle)
Odeon O-26428b Be 12717 Erdély-induló (Náray)
Odeon O-26451a Be 12845 Leb' wohl, Irene! (Bork)
Odeon O-26451b Be 12846 Edith heißt sie! (Bork)
Odeon O-26481a Be 12924 Heia Safari! (Schönicke)
Odeon O-26481b Be 12923 Panzer rollen in Afrika vor (Schultze)
Odeon O-26550a Be 13193-2 Glocken der Heimat (Bochmann)
Odeon O-26550b Be 13194 Heimat, ich möcht' dich einmal wiederseh'n (Meister)

(Again, I haven't checked any of the websites in years, there's pobably more to find. A big thanks to the Dismarc team for sharing as well.)

Cheers,
Ivan
