Hi,
Has anyone seen these ten inch flexible discs, of the "Deutsche Musik" label ? I have seven of these. They are made by "Electromusik-Gesellschaft m.b.H Vaihingen a.F. Stuttgart". I have the following issues:
3001 - Fridericus Rex Marsch (von Radek) & Konig Karl Marsch (von Unrath) Philh. Orchester, Stuttgart, dirigent: Drost
3007 - Am wunderschonen Rhein (Marsch von Schwarz) & Die 9. Jager (Marsch von Ludicke) SA Kapelle Standarte 119 - Kapellmeister Franz
4003 - In aller Fruhe (Polka von Ludicke) & Geschichten aus dem Wiener Wald (Johann Strauss)
5010 - Potpourri aus dem Singspiel "Das Dreimaderlhaus" (Schubert - Berte) Salon Orchester
5012 - Schwarzwaldmadel (Potpourri von Schubert) Das "Deutsche Musik"- Sinfonie Orchester dir. W. Baldur
6007 - Kommt ein Vogerl geflogen & Dirndl's Traum - Zithersolo Max Rostock
6012 - Largo von Handel & Ave Verum Corpus (Mozart) gespielt von Alfred Kaul auf Schiedmayers Celesta-Orgel
8004 - Der Lindenbaum (Schubert) & Die Uhr (Loewe), L. van de Sande, Bariton mit Orchesterbegleitung
Anyone knows a bit more about these recordings & artists ? Date ? Who is Kapellmeister Franz ? Who is W. Baldur ? Who is Drost ?
L. van de Sande is probably the Dutch Bas-Baryton Louis van de Sande. Max Rostock made more Zither records on other 78 rpm labels. But I have no idea who Alfred Kaul was.
So... how rare are these records ?
regards, Marc
Deutsche Musik [flexible records]
Hello, Marc
These records are not so common and some of them are definitely very rare. You are right about v. d. Sande, it is indeed Louis; if I'm not mistaken, those are originally "Adler" tracks (referring only to v. d. Sande record), with matrix numbers 7193 and 7196 (sometimes written also as 17193 and 17196), recorded around 1930 (I should check). At the moment, we have only one of the "Deutsche Musik" labels posted on SCF, see http://www.schellackforum.com/sforum/vi ... =142&t=604 (there's also a photo of Sturmführer Willi Franz). "Drost" is Ferdinand Drost. Matrix numbers might be helpful for further information, but without them, that's all I can write at the moment...
Cheers,
Ivan
