WWII love songs

#1

Post by sylvieK4 » 18 Jul 2003, 20:43

Does anyone know titles - and artist information - about any love songs popular in Germany (and German-occupied Europe) during the Second World War?

Any song that might be considered a "love song" - or at least songs sentimental about relationships/ romance - that were popular among Third Reich soldiers and civilians.

Thanks. :)

I thinks the most known is "Lili Marleen" !

There's also "Erika", "Warte, mein Mädel", "Edith heißt sie", "Gerda - Ursula - Marie" etc.

Hello, sylvieK4

The majority of the songs composed during WWII were actually love songs. Listing all of them would be an endless job of little value I'm afraid.

Cheers,
Ivan
