Ein Heller und ein Batzen

[Topic renamed by the host, Ivan Ž.]

I heard this on some history lesson tape the other day. I think the lyrics go:

Heil, seig Heil lo, hi la
Heil, Seig heil lo, heil la
heil lee, hi lo, hi la
ah ha ha ha ha

I'm not sure if those are even the words are not, but that's what it sounded like. Anyone know the name of it?

I think I know what you mean, but there really is no Sieg Heil in that one and it is in no way Nazi-related, it just goes:

Hei - Di - Hei -Do - Hei -Da,
Hei - Di - Hei - Do - Hei - Da,
Hei - Di! Hei - Do! Hei,
Da - Ha - Ha - Ha - Ha!

Which, of course doesn't really mean anything, it's basically just a la-la-la-type of chorus with the last line representing laughter. This is from the refrain of the German folk song "Ein Heller und ein Batzen".

Here's the lyrics:

This sounds better because if you look at the asked text it is without sense!

Ah! That's it! I recognize the melody. I don't know, it was muffled behind some proffessor guy talking about 3rd Reich farmers or something. Wasn't sure about the lyrics, it just sounded like that.

Did anybody hear any variants of the song "Ein Heller und ein Batzen" recorded before 1945 (not a potpourri but complete song)?

So far I've heard only a radio recording, of a march of the same name composed by G. Royer (with "Ein Heller und ein Batzen" the folk song in trio).

Cheers,
Ivan
