Jugend marschiert (Her zu uns, all ihr Jungen...)
Jugend marschiert (Her zu uns, all ihr Jungen...)
Hello, everyone
I'm looking for lyrics of the march "Jugend marschiert", which can be heard in the 1933 movie "Hans Westmar". It originally began with the line "Her zu uns, all ihr Jungen", but in the movie, another strophe was sung (it's not the 1st nor the 2nd).
Thanks in advance,
Ivan

Ivan: I can't quite remember which book it's in, but I believe one of the following books has the Youth march song that you're looking for-- if not, they definitely point towards the references necessary for you to find it.
Koch, H.W. "The Hitler Youth: Origins and Development 1922-45." London: Macdonald and Jane’s, 1975.
Peukert, Detlev. "Youth in the Third Reich.” Life in the Third Reich. ed. Richard Bessel Oxford: Oxford University Press, 1986
Rempel, Gerhard. "Hitler’s Children: The Hitler Youth and the SS." London: The University of North Carolina Press, 1989

Dear all,
I am new here. Please let me introduce myself.
I am 43 years old and I have been collecting pre-1945 german recordings and songbooks for quite a few years now. I think I've got most of the CDs available on the market . Also I am happy to have around 45 Liederbücher in my collection + a few original 78rpm Schellack records. However, I am still far from having the knowledge that some of you have...
Could anyone of you provide me with the lyrics of the song from 'Hans Westmar' sung by SA men when they leave the SA camp for a big demonstration in the center of Berlin. It is also sung at the very end of the film, after the 'Horst Wessel Lied'. The melody is that of 'Jugend marschiert' (composed by E. Hanfstaengl) and it seems that it starts with "Jugend zieht durch die Strassen, stolz im braunen Gewand..."
Thank you in advance !

(Sorry, I was away for the weekend…)
Actually, in ‘Triumph of the will’ it is played after Lutze’s speech and the fireworks. The Hitlerjugend sequence opens with a very impressive view on a HJ trumpet bell, followed by DJ drummers and the band plays ‘Jugend marschiert’ (not to confuse with ‘Die Jugend marschiert mit frohem Gesang’ that they also play immediately after…) Note that the tune played while Hitler is being driven around the stadium is ‘Vorwärts ! Vorwärts !’.
The instrumental version is well known and often called ‘Hitlerjugendmarsch’ on CDs, although the real title seems to have been ‘Jugend marschiert’. I believe it was originally composed by Ernst Hanfstaengl for the film ‘Hans Westmar’ but the only version with vocals that I know is in the film itself. By the way, I find it interesting that Hanfstaengl also composed the funeral march of ‘Hans Westmar’, with a very similar title: ‘Jugend trauert’.
