That Die Löwen von Carentan - Das Fallschirmjäger-Regiment 6 1943-45 is one FJ book i would like to have, not seen on sale here, would nee to order it in when have the cash. Are there any book on the FJ in say reichswald/hochwald,operation veritable, that whole rhineland battle area in 1945.Like either a single divison or one on all that fought there,i wish there was or one would be made even too, like the last major battles on the western front and the FJ where a major force, but lost a lot of men too,how many not realy shure, unless someone can tell me,maybe thousands all added up. 8-)

Disappointed by Muñoz's "Göring's Grendadiers"

Post by Sam Wren » 02 Feb 2011, 09:46

I purchased Antonio Muñoz's Görings Grenadiers: The Luftwaffe Field Divisions 1942-1945 for more info on the 16. Luftwaffe Felddivsion. Almost immediately after starting to read the relevant chapter I ran across many significant and easily-checked errors. Also of concern is his dependence on dubious sources for this Chapter (Mitcham's The Desert Fox in Normandy and Nafziger's The German Order of Battle). Muñoz's interest appears to be focused mainly on units that fought on the E. front but in my opinion if you can't much information in dependable sources then leave it at that - don't pad it with garbage from questionable sources. The other chapters may be very good - I don't know and don't really care since I am not interested in any of the other Luftwaffe Felddivisions.
