Can you be more specific about the link? Is it this picture you mean?

Hi Daniel,

Yes, that's the picture, i mentioned. Up to now, i couldn't find any more information about the location, or anything else. I'll look at my table of organisation, maybe that will give some answer. But as far as I know, in combat, they never used this anti-tank rifle, only the regular infantry.

Greetings,

Zsolt

1) The FJ in Holland May 1940 used only Panzerbuchs 38/39 and not the 2 cm Solothurn version which was considered too heavy. Indeed most FJ Kp's had only one or two PB's.

2) The picture doesn't show a captured Dutch PB. The Dutch PB was delivered with a wheeled undercarriage and not a bipod which the few lucky Dutch users missed darely in those days.

3) The Dutch Light Division had no PB's.

4) None of the units that fought FJ in the Netherlands had PB's, so none could have been taken (over) by the FJ during the battle in 1940. Obviously afterwards they could have.

The picture is most likely one of those 'abused' to give an impression. We got plenty of those that we see all around with all kinds of under titles to go along with them. Unfortunately this gives all kind of misinterpretation and topics like subject topic.

Well, this 6 year old thread has just one more reply needed.

I have translated the Swedish S18-1000 manual to English. It is available on my website on the MG Manuals page, about 2/3 of the way down, just above Machine Pistols and Automatic Rifles section. See the listing for details and pictures.

It has a high price, but I had to learn enough Swedish to do just this one manual, and find an S18-1000 to understand the manual.

As a footnote: the S18-100 as used by the Hungarians and Finns was chambered for a 20 x 105B round also used in aircraft cannon. The later S18-1000 and S18-1100 fired the more powerful 20 x 138B round also used in various German and Italian 20 mm guns (Flak 30 and 38, Breda, etc.).

The picture on the preceding page is in fact an S18-100, which would mean it is not Dutch. It seems the German army acquired a small batch for testing before the war. Of course, in the course of the war, the Germans used anything and everything they could get their hands on. Some interesting pictures here:

I'm ressurecting the topic.
Does anyone have a good drawing of Solothurn wheeled chassis with dimensions?
