Fallschirmjäger attacking Sainte-Mère-Église ?

I'm trying to find some information about the 2nd battalion of the FJ-regiment 6 being sent to attack Sainte-Mère-Église. Information seems to be patchy, they were certainly in the area after U.S paratroopers took the town but it's not clear if the 2nd battalion of Fallschirmjäger took part in the counter attack that day or the day after (7 June), all I've been able to find is that they retreated to south to Saint-Côme-du-Mont after running low on ammo. Any information you may have is appreciated.
