I should of rephrased my statement. What I meant was that after Crete the transports were not used for troop movements except for rescues. Yes, you are quite correct, many were shot down or crash-landed during the air-droppings on Crete.

There were no assaults by the FJ " from the sky" on the eastern front, but "Branderburgers" were active,also in the north.
After Crete 1941 with heavy losses to the FJ, no further operations out that kind were carried out.
Concerning German operations against Tito, that was Balkan, not the Ostfront, and not by paras but by special commandoes
