As I already have replied to you the II batalion of the 22 Luftwaffe fieldregiment was part of the invasion force.

The forces which took part from the 22. Luftlande division was the II-16 Infantryregiment and II-65 Infantry regiment as well as the 2nd company of the engineer batalion and 3rd&4th batteries of the 22nd artillery regiment.

There was also a Flak company from the 22nd flak with 4 88mm flak and 4 flak halftracks with 20mm cannon

The Battle of Leros

The attack on Leros, which was named "Operation Tayfun" set for November 12, after several postponements due to the intervention of the British Army.

Early morning of November 12 the German ships appeared on the coast of Leros. Under the German plan Germans soldiers landed simultaneously on three points on the east coast and one on the west. They were selected rocky shores so to avoid minefields and to surprise the British and Italian forces on the island. At the narrowest point of Leros, in the hill Rahi, the plan provided for the parachutes, which would cut the island in two and unites the eastern with the western bridgehead. After the occupation of the northern part of Leros, the attack would follow the southern part.

But the battalion was disembarked west vehemently suffered artillery fire and was forced to return to Kalymnos.Because of the failure of the German forces to land on the west side of Leros, paratroopers jump,CANCELLED in the center of the island, which would link the two bridgeheads and German soldiers in the east had to face all the forces of blockers.

Around 6:30 on the morning of November 12 the three German battalions landed on the east side of Leros. Another battalion to the north, accepting fire from the artillery of the Italian region had to resort to Pharmakonisi. A second German battalion, under Major von Zalntern managed initially landed in the bay of the Occult, and the afternoon of the same day and after continuous conflicts, understand the key hill, which is of particular strategic importance, as it connects the north with south of Leros. On the south side of the bay of Alinda disembarked company of Amphibians Commando "Brandenburger" men whose finally managed to occupy half the facilities of the heavy-battery "Lago". Finally, around 13:30 paratroopers whose morning shooting was postponed because of a failed landing attempt on the west coast, the shells Rachi with this move, which surprised the Italian forces, Leros was cut in two.

The next day, the Amphibious Commandos' Brandenburger "amplified by a Battalion of Infantry and managed to occupy the whole-battery" Lago ". Also the guild, which the day before had not been able to disembark on the west side of the island, in troughs eventually landed in the eastern Upper Dough Leros and strengthened its foothold in the north of the bay of Alinda. The transfers of the German troops were unable to prevent the British ships, and during the night after the German air offensive against a squadron of the British fleet, sank a destroyer squadron and was forced to depart.

On November 14, around two in the morning, the British launched a counterattack to recapture the Pitykiou, but did not work as the Germans raised strong defense and finally the British were forced to retreat, having suffered heavy losses. Similarly repelled the British attack on the occupation of Meroviglia. More successful was the British attack on the key that led to the recapture.

Early in the morning of November 15 and while the fate of Leros had begun to prescribed after German forces were reinforced continuously while the Anglo-Italian had decreased significantly and counter attacks in various parts of the island did not have the desired effects, initiated new British counterattack against Ridge. And this counter attack failed due to lack of coordination of British-Italian forces but also because of strong opposition from the Germans. This was the last British tried to attempt to change the course of battle. In the Pityki "Brandenburger" attacked the Castle of the Knights and took the early afternoon hours, while other German forces headed towards Platanos, achieving the unification of all German bridgeheads.

On November 16, at three in the afternoon and while there had been a German attack in Merovigli, German forces, having overpowered British outbreaks of resistance, arrived off the British headquarters and threatened to blow up Brigadier Tilda forced to surrender. With this move ended the battle of Leros.
