Hi,
As @ndrew said it a "garage" for a command train, in this case I think it was Hitler's.
I think this is the place.

Hi,
Herr Jens Nestvogel turned out to be very gracious and let me copy material from his WEB-site, and I am most grateful for his willingness to share his work with us. Based on this, I have published a page, which shows many of the wagons and in the correct sequence.
Please see:

Hello

The bunkers exists in couples:each consists of two bunkers.

1-Jeleń & Konewka
2-Stępina &Żarnowska Góra (actually it is a tunnel)

At least one is reported to has been visited by Hitler and Mussolini in 1940.
What about hisstory-hmm they were built with assistance of labours and POWs,were quarded very well during the whole occupation. After the war were used by military and later to became an ordinary storage. One of them was planned to be a storage for gold and money(something like Fort Knox).
Worth of mention is that labours reported that bunkers were built as a 'sandwich' structure against the bombs(concrete, springs!!!)

That what bothers bunker freaks minds is a question if they had underground parts/systems....
(some people arguing that staff needed more space for work, maps, cables etc.)

Today they are accessible and can be seen-so if have planns to make a holiday in Poland it is a reall must.

Nice example of Fuhrer bunker in Stępina.

I think that they were built as a Fuhrer bunkers but also were or could be used by other special trains including Gorings one.

I stayed almost all evening looking at the magnificent site from Mr. Nestvogel. Great stuff.

One question remains yet to be answered... what locomotive pulled the ASIEN Train from dear Hermann...

Hi Patrick,
Not surprised at your question and I'll qoute Jens response when I asked him:

"Because there isn't a typical locomotive that pull "Asien", I can't give you
a drawing. A that time they used locomotives which are available and
usefully. The following classes/series are proven (for all government and
commando trains):
- steam locos: 01, 01.10, 03, 38.10-40, 39, 41, 50, 52, austrian
KKStB-machines
- electric locos: E18, E16"

So are we off on a loco-hunt?

I guess so

But you have to agree, we have moved quite a "track" ahead... I've never thought of finding so much information. I'll contact per Mail Jens, since I have some questions about the ASIEN Train from HG. He arrived on the 14th october 1944 to visit an underground factory near Jena, which was very important to the war effort and on which I have been researching for 10 years.

Hi Partick,
I have not seen so material on this subject covered in such a short time ever. There is nothing like "Information shared" and an open mind towards exchanging information. And I'm on to the "Lokos". A complete list of ALL the tunnels utilized would not be too bad either. Most of these, as far as I understand, were existing tunnels which were just commandeered for the purpose, but some were "costum" built. There was one for ASIEN in the Berchtesgaden area, one in Postdam near OKL HQ Kurfürst and the one I showed originally.

The FLAK Waggons seem also something interesting to follow. As I am in the army and have been for a long time involved in recogntion, I would say that the Flak stuff is surely a good recogntion point in pictures where HG train is on them.

Here are some pic's I just found...
