World War Germany Air Force Honor Disk

Postby yaldjl on 14 Jul 2012 09:02

I don't know if all of you know this disk, so I want to share something about it.
This was given to a well-known auction company for auction by posterity of grantee five years ago. The ace pilots who have shot down enemy planes more than 5 were more than 3000, the pilots whose record up to one hundred or more were 107 (Honor cup). The super ace pilots were just 2 who have shot down enemy planes more than 300 in history of world air fighting, both in Luftwaffe of World War II.
Here is the picture.

This is a Luftwaffe "Salver of Honour"- For Distingushed Achievements in Action 1942-1945. (Ehrenschale für Herorragende Kampfleistungen).....and Mark....that's the Reichsmarshal's Eagle....NOT an Army.

Always "by Wagner of Berlin, "Alpaka" silver. Always engraved with recipient's name, rank, & date. Niemann #3 Price Guide lists them from $13,000.00 to $20,000.00.

Not commenting on it's originality, etc., but certianly a RARE AWARD "SALVER"....

von thoma,
Good catch....notice it's a "Bronze" version....obviously I poor copy and NOT ORIGINAL.....there was No way to judge if real from the one photo, but obviously just someone's effort to rip off collector's......I hate potentially being used to hump up a reproduction!

There are original's......but obviously "Extremely rare!"......not anything most of us will ever see, let alone, own!
Thanks for the link....
