any thoughts on this bar?
Re: any thoughts on this bar?
At first glance, looks o.k., the 1914 EK appears to be a "one piece" - which they did make... but some don't trust them. However, looking close, the ribbon furrels seem alittle "unprofessional"... so I'd want to really look it over very closely (what does the back look like under the black wool backing)....(what is the "stuffing" under the ribbon?).. the blk. backing also doesn't look quite right, also. If anything looks "amaturely done" or "Modern materials", obviously run away. Use a blacklite.... if it still passes the "in your hand" test...then it would depend on the price... Nothing unusual about the medals..

The cross is defiantly three piece and core is magnetic.

In that case, assuming everything else checks out... probably a vintage 3 place bar... nice condition, fairly common combination but would depend on the price... (IMO $150./200. retail)..
Good luck..

The pawn shop that sold them to me said they were fakes. I was sure that some of the medals were real and for 15 bucks it was well worth the chance. Thanks for the help. This helps me recover from having to sell off much of my collection during the GR. Thanks for the help
