Nice find. The Ost medal 108 is maker Arno Wallpach of Salzburg. Stewy

Thanks Stewey,
The war merit cross has a broken hanging loop but it can be repaired. I don't mind doing that for a piece like that. It's late war with no bronze finish left. But I will leave the assault badge as is.
I'm sure I'll "catch it" from our forum members about repairing anything, even a common medal like this. But if it's done by a competent jeweler at the right price I'm OK with it. Besides, that's how it was done originally.
Anyway, thank you again. I'm always excited about finding new additions to my modest collection.

I'm "old school" collector-wise, I see nothing wrong with PROPER repair and restoration when done properly/authentically... I've had many originals that had either crude field repairs or were professionally repaired by period jewelers. Of course, repairs/restorations should be noted when (if) the items changes hands (resold/traded/etc.).

Nice lot.... especially if you have ribbon for the EK14 & Ost medal.

All nice additions.... the Swastika hat/hair pin is not "German/Nazi" related, but has "collector interest" as a "swastika" (Non-political) in and of itself.
Good hunting....

Thanks john G.
My favorite is the smallest one...the eagle pin. Research tells me that it's an "early" design. I find it esthetically pleasing.

Dennis,
The early is an early NSDAP M-29 eagle.... many photos show Adolf himself wearing the same.... can be found in several variations.... does the Police Tshako plate still have it's screw posts?

Hi John G.
Sadly the shako plate screws are missing. The plate shows damage on obverse where screws almost poked through as if it was stepped on. Also there are two dents on and around the swastika that look as if it was shot with a BB gun. it's a shame too because the back has a nice "Assman and Son" logo and the plate itself is a crisp, clean strike. Even so, it displays well.
Regards,
Dennis R.

Close-up of pin. Notice the "clipped" corners of the swastika.

Got this nice photo album today with over a hundred photos of a man's military career. The last one is his grave with helmet on cross. A very sad ending. I took photos of every page and will start a new topic in the appropriate place if anyone's interested.
Anyway, total cost was $69.00.
