For the Japanse awards, I suggest "Orders and Medals of Japan and Associated States" by James W. Peterson.

For Japanese "non" valor awards...Military Next of Kin, Imperial Time Expiered Soldiers League, Assorted Military Associations, Womens Associations, Japanese Red Cross and other's.

Pamphlet styple book titled "Decorations & Awards of The Third Reich" dtd 1974 from GMI Publications. Gives a good overview of awards and decorations. Purchased used through Amazon.com.

This book takes presents large color images as well as period photographs detailing the different tiers and grades of marksmanship lanyards. Specifications for, and details of, genuine badges explain what the collector should know before he buys. In a similar manner, TDBs are examined with examples of the various backgrounds encountered for genuine badges along with exciting vignettes of soldiers who participated in the close-in combat necessary to win these awards.

Well if you want to know about the recipiants of the awards Franz Kurowski's
Infantry Aces:
Details of combat careers of Knights Cross recipiants, 6 six soldiers 4 from the Wehrmacht, and two from the Waffen-SS,
I know one of them was Josef "Sepp" lainer and i think Alfred Schrineheirtd
Panzer Aces: Franz Bake, Otto Bolter, Rudolf Von Ribbentrop Michale Wittmann, all recived the Knights Cross i cant remember the others, as i havnt read it in a long while.
Luftwaffe Aces: I havnt read it yet but it was about Luftwaffe pilots who recived the Knights Cross.
