rommel-lebt wants to comply

Postby Harry1947 on 16 Mar 2012 21:24

Hi folks - I contacted rommel-lebt.com and told him what you guys are doing to him. He said he would remove ANYTHING that you think is a repro - and has already removed everything that you have mentioned so far. He is a decent guy, and like I said, has always treated me well. So it you find anything else that you don't like - contact him, unless you would rather just drag him through the mud. Hopefully, you guys are not like that. He will be watching this site from now on to see if there is anthing else you do not like. If you want to be decent, just email him, and tell him, instead of doing what you are doing now. His email address is: chromaxx@bellsouth.net Photos are his main thing. He just took on the rest to fill out his site. He doesn't care that much about militaria. Harry

Harry1947,
It's not our job to police his website....please don't volunteer my professional services....if he needs assistance on anything, he can participate like anyone else....here or elsewhere....

If you want to believe the "Sorry, I didn't know" routine, be my guest....I'm not buying it for one second!

John - Well you guys seem to be doing a darn good job of "policing" his site! The Gestapo has nothing on your tactics! If you don't believe him how do you explain the fact that he has removed everything you guys objected to? You guys are wrong about him, but too darned proud (or worse) to admit it. Harry

Nobody was dragging anyone thru the mud. I believe the thread was started to warn other collectors about a website that was selling bad items as original.
And it was funny that some of the items had been posted on here for opinions (by a member who claimed ownership of the items) & they were deemed to be bad but were for sale on that website (rommel-lebt) as original.
People post items they are interested in buying on here and other forums to get help in determining if the item is good or bad so they don't get burned by unscrupulous dealers or by others trying to unload items that they themselves have been burned on.And I agree 100% with what John has said.

Hello,
If Rommel is not too interested in Militaria, mainly in photos, he should be more careful what he feautures on his web site. He should be looking into reference books before his questionable items are advertised in his web site, not after he receives negative comments.
Regards, Harry (the real one )

First of all,
the whole discussion started from the need to inform collectors about this site. Nobody said that this guy was doing it in purpose. Not all of us know all the fakes out there. That's why this forum exists! Noone wanted to drag nobody through the mud..All of us,we've been around for a long time, 10, 20 years maybe more, so we have our experiences and we are being sceptical about those things. Don't forget we are talking about money here, lots of them. It's rommel's responsibility to know what is authentic and what's not..we just know this things for our expence so that we won't get burnt from people who are not intrested what they are selling..
