Hey guys i was hoping I could get some information on this badge I just picked up. Im a little concerned because there is no makers mark on the back and some other examples I have seen do have makers marks. Any info as to who it was offer to and why would be great. Also not that I want to sell but any idea on value? I just want to see if I did ok on this one or not. thanks

This is a fairly common tinney, not a Gau Badge!........sold nationally to show solidarity with the French-occupied Saar region prior to it's re-incorperation into the Reich...1935 being the date of the public vote for restoration I believe (too lazy to check exact dates)...have owned several over the years, not being marked doesn't bother me any....materials and construction look right, IMO. Value is between $18.00 to $35.00 realistically (on the mid-low side), though I've seen it listed for "lot's more" as well as having the "Saar medallion" removed and being sold as a rare "Swastika" hat emblem.
Real....but common.

Hello there,

I see no red flags with this one. I think it may be "worth" a little more than John's estimate, but not by much.

Nice piece.
