For my info. would this HJ pin have this type pin assembly? Is not this a USA.non Axis WW2 era pin?

That's something I've learned as well, I thought that kind of safety catch was a modern creation. Many thanks for the lesson.

Same here Ian, I was turning down TR pins (HJ) with this code and pic assembly, I thought the set up was modern also.
