How to fasten Iron Cross 1st Class

Hello all,

I recently obtained an Iron Cross first class pinback, but I'm quite clueless on how to attach it to my tunic. I asked it because, the pin is big, and I'm afraid of it puncture the tunic, is this supposed to Happen?

Loops are attached to the tunic and then the iron cross is inserted into the loops. Look through some dealers sites and you will see uniforms with loops on the pocket for the iron cross. Jim
