Hello slick, I need to see detailed images of that Eagle Order breast star to say anything about the value, photos of the obverse and reverse if possible. A Grand Cross in Gold is a very rare item.

Of course War Lord, that is one of the reasons that I wanted to see detailed pictures and see what we have here.

Here is a better picture. It is marked 900 21 on the reverse pin , also I took a picture of another similar looking medal I am having a difficult time identifying. On the back of the eight pointed medal in the top picture it says deutsches Feld- Ehrenzeichen. Hamburg 11. Thanks for the help guys.

Hello,

Can't comment on the Eagle Order but I wanted to say that I THINK the above white enamel badge is a WWI Hamburg front-fighter badge ? ? ?

Just thought I would point it out for you. Hope this helps, but I could be way off.

"Deutsches Feld-Ehrenzeichen" is the the name of the badge, German Field Honor badge.

Just realised I wanted to respond to Williams comment about Ford's acceptance of the award - why did you mention German ethnic background, surely his fathers parents were Irish?

Matt Gibbs wrote: Newer information about the role of Ford and it's german subsiduary makes interesting reading - however, he accepted the award as coming from the "Germna nation" not the personage of Adolf Hitler.

Kind regards

Matt, this is why I thought that he agreed to take the award. I must have read it wrong as I thought Ford was German after reading your message. I was just glad that he didn't accept it as a fan of Hitler.
