Paul,
Thanks for sharing (?) but.....you are correct, "all" appear to be crude reproductions. You'd be much better off collecting original ANYTHING......common tinneys, inexpensive cloth insignia, or whatever strikes your fancy.....but any effort and money spent on reproductions is totally wasted IMO.....might look "kool" but really just a pile of crap..... (No offense....we all started somewhere!). There's still plenty of inexpensive "smalls" out there....and at least they're real and will hold or appreciate in value....
Up to you, of course....

Actually there maybe hope for the 29 RPT badge. Can you post a close up?

Pardon my ignorance, but how can you tell these are fakes? I should learn this.

Adam,
Aside from the fact most are poor quality copies of extremely rare awards.....all are crude, poor detail, wrong materials, or just obvious to anyone whose "seen or handled" originals....There's a slim chance for the "tag der Polz. 42" pin, the Tinney just below that one (looks like a HJ Hostel type), and possibly the EK Certificate.....(need better pictures, etc. to tell) but the pins are extremely common and the EK Cert. - well, that would depend, of course....but those also look doubtful from this photo.

Paul, this isn't meant to "knock your stuff anymore than previously done"....but to answer Adams question. No offense.

Ok, take the Deutsches Turn und Sportfest Breslau 1938 one at right, which we can see in fairly sharp detail. Tell me what strikes you as "wrong" about it.

(I'm interested in this because I was in Wroclaw in October and visited the wonderful Jahrhunderthalle which was used for the gymanstics part of the festival, which Hitler attended. I would be interested in buying a genuine one of these badges if anyone knows where I could get one.)

Adam.
The quality of the NSRL is NOTHING like the originals....(of course...pictures of the reverse would quickly clear up any possible questions)....but I've owned the Breslau NSRL before.... and this one isn't that good (and the wrong material if I'm not mistaken)....look closely at the finish....it's not sharp at all. None of these standup to German quality!

Paul,

your 29 badge is good.
Look again!....there's no way the 1929 badge is real....(much too large for the pinback version, much too crude for the oversized plaque version)..... look at the lettering, etc., much too crude. No way!

I got most of the items in my collection from a catalog called World War 2 Limited, in the late 1980's or early 1990's. They said that their catalog was printed in 1978, so you had to add more money to the prices listed for inflation, but they were still so cheap that I would think that they are reproductions instead of originals. The only medal that is not from WW 2 LTD, was the Knights Cross. I got it from World Wide Militaria LLC about 3 years ago and they described it as a "German reproduction Knights Cross of the Iron Cross with highlighted center" for $23.95.
If anybody knows about World War 2 LTD, maybe you can tell me if they sold real or fake stuff. :milwink:

The description for the Breslau Sport Badge said it was silver, but the one they sent was gold instead.

I disagree John, it is original. The lettering, eagle and castle all have the halmarks of originals. This badge is a non portable version.
