VERY nice collection, some rare beauties there  Some other items from my collection are on page 2 of this forum ... by no-means all of them though.

Could I get some opinions on the origin and authenticity of this?

It looks ok but the scan is washed out and lacks detail of the eagle itself. Here's my example ... any chance of a similar quality photograph please.

Cheers, Ian.

It doesn't seem to have the same detail of the eagle's head or of the ground behind the swastika.

Sorry Adam, that appears to be a cast fake. As you correctly say it lacks the detail of an original and also has the tiny casting pits over what should be a smooth surface. It may be a post-war Souval piece or just a plain old reproduction.

Hello,

I found this badge on a flea market in Romania, I really think it is a fake but as I'm not a specialist I would like to have your opinions on this. thanks a lot!

Yes, as you suspect it's a fake. These badges were good quality ... your's isn't I'm afraid.

Cheers, Ian.

Thank you for your answer.
If it is a fake, is possible that it has been made in the 30's or 40's? it looks very old though.

No, a more recent fake ... made to deceive or as a fill in piece.

I have a similar piece, with an HJ lozenge rather than a swastika.

Yours is an origin but sadly de-Nazified example. :( The difference in quality is normally the largest red flag.

I can't say I can see much difference in quality between the two.

Look closer Adam.... the 1st example has many OBVIOUS differances is quality, details, and they've eliminated the Hitler Youth enamel diamond completely...(removed from the original example but diamond shape remains on that one).

There are excellent fakes that can deceive.... this ISN'T one of those...
