Microfilm roll numbers................

#2

Post by William Russ » 02 Jan 2007, 21:09

Hello Byron,
I finally got to the university library to look at the microfilm guides for what you are looking for. First, there are no records for the 713th Infantry, 41st Festung Divisions, 133rd Festung (Kreta) Division or the Kreta Festung Brigade. I did find the following for the other units:

104th Jäger Division: T315/ roll numbers 1242-1244 (1/43-7/43 only)
117th Jäger Division: T315/ roll numbers 1299 & 1300 (3/43-1/45) mostly 1943 info
164th Infantry Division: T315/ roll numbers 1473 & 1474

Hope this helps, Bill

Hello Bill,

I discovered your info about the microfilms just now. Any way, i want to thank you from my heart. It`s wonderful how people, who do`nt know eachother, can help threw the I-net.
About 164 Inf.Div., the rolls 1473 & 1474 you mentioned, which year are they reporting?
Thanks again Bill

Hello Byron,
I was wondering how long it would take you to find this  .
You're right. I left off the dates for the 164th for some reason. I have already disposed of the notes I made for the items, which means another trip to the library!
I will get the dates in the next couple of days.

Best regards, Bill

164th Light Division Info...

#6

Post by William Russ » 31 Jan 2007, 21:13

Hi Byron,
Okay, here is what is on the microfilms for the 164th for the related time period you asked for.

Roll 1473 - war diary: 7/42 - 12/42
Roll 1474 - war diary: 2/41 - 5/41, daily reports: 8/41 - 12/41, war diary anlagen: 7/42 - 12/42 and supply reports: 7/42 - 12/42.

Thanks for the offer. I would probably need more info on the Greek Army for April 1941more than anything else. I have plenty on the German Army for the invasion of Yugoslavia and Greece. I am going to write a book on the Balkans 1941 campaign after I finish the 'Fridericus' book. There is a definite lack of information on the Greek Army in the U.S..

Best regards, Bill

Hello Bill,

Thanks for the infos about the rolls, I am going to give an order.
Subject greek armee:
What are you interested for in particular?
Do you need information about the greek units, their locations or C.Officers that confronted
the Germans on the greek-bulgarian border?
All my sources come in a greek context (books from general staff) so I would have to
translate first.
Have a look at: ww2greece.wargaming.info
I consider myself an expert regarding the german troops in Greece. If you speak german,
it would be easier for me to provide information becouse of my poor english.
You could have a look also at my website: http://www.wehrmacht-in-griechenland.de.vu
Please send me your email address so we can continue our contact in a proper manner.
You will find my mail on my website

best regards
Byron
