Hello,

my source is the period book "Der fuhrer im arbeitsdienst" author Oberstfeldmeister Fritz Edel-he was referant fur arbeitsdienst im reichsministerium fur volksaufklarung und propaganda, the ??behind the 1934 is because there is no date on the list-the men are titled gauarbeitsfuhrers and if i am not mistaken this title ceased to exist in 1934,also there is a picture of each man beside his name on the list and they are all wearing pre 1934 pattern gauarbeitsfuhrer shoulder boards so im guessing this list is from 1934 it is possible it may be a earlier dated list i will check it again for a date and post another reply here.

You may want to add Dr. Robert Ley to the list of at least honorary Generalarbietsfuhrers. or OGAF. Check out the beautifual color photo on pages 50-51 of the Arndt publication Die Grossen Miltarparaden. Ley is wearing an RAD Generals uniform -- cant make out the shoulder boards but the insignia on the collar tabs is gold. He is sitting between Bormann and what looks like Goebbels and Schwarz --- Goebbels is hidden but you can see his nose and trousers. The photo is taken at what looks like the 1937 RPT. Hitler and Hierl are in the background with other RAD leaders. Ley is sitting with the other Reichsleiters. The caption on page 49 says its Hierl, but Hierl is clearly with Hitler. Ley is misidentified in the photo.

The picture you have is signed in Gothic leters SCHROEDER...very fine picture, indeed a rare find.
(N.B. Post on my first day...I did not realize you had identified it.)

I would have a question?

Does anybody know the Abteilung Nr. and/or Gruppenstab (40-47) of the Arbeitsgau IV (Pommern-Ost), Abeilung in Zempelburg West Prussia...around 1944?

RAD 1936 Nuremberg party pally pin

...Schröder would not wear a pin designed for young men who leave the service. It is hard to see, but it probably is the 1936 Labour Rally pin.

I'm not sure we mean the same thing. The one I have seen was the normal shape of oval badge like the "arbeits dank" type, but in in GOLD and it came in a smart leatherette case, it looked like the quality of the golden HJ badges that were sometimes given to 3rd reich personalities. I guess I need to find a photo.

Yes thats exactly what I am talking about Ehrenzeichen=HonorBadge.
It certainly looks like an oval badge on his pocket to me. Thanks for the advice.

I recieved this addition to the thread in an email:
perhaps this might be useful for your data-base:

Dipl.Ing. Robert Viktor Leitner: *2.4.1906 St.Pölten / Austria ,
+20.1.1945 Zwittau / Prag.
Generalarbeitsführer since 1.1.1944, Arbeitsgau XXXVIII .

At the same date Leonhard Munzert was promoted to the same rank,
Arbeitsgau VII .
