Bake,
Your RK verleihung was of ObLt Johannes Baasch InfRgt 410. Decorating general was Sigfrid Macholz, his div kmdr. If you flip back a few pages in this thread, I had posted Baasch too ( which I hadn't been able to ID then). That was from another series of verleihung pics although the one you posted seemed from be from a different lot.
Cheers

This should be ObLt Hans Otto Fabian, Fhr III/GrRgt 534/384 Div 0n 15.03.43, later ELT. General on the right pic looked like Eccard FrHr v Gablenz. He was kmdr of 384 Div for winter of 41/42 and 42/43. There were only two RTKs from thsi division during this period. v Gablenz went on to command Div Nr 404, a EuA division in Eastren Germany and 232 Div in which there were no RKTs.

Karl Gümbel ?
Hello,
I bought two of these three photos on ebay showing a general visiting / inspecting the Sturmgeschütz-Ausbildungs- und Ersatzabteilung 600 in Deutsch-Eylau in spring 1943. Is it possible that these pics are showing
Generalleutnant KARL GÜMBEL,
during that time "Kommandeur der Ersatztruppen II" ?
Thank you, Peter

Hi Peter,
Nice talking to you again so soon.
That makes this pic Gümbel too. It was from the same set of Behnke pics from Ebay a while ago.
Regarding the pic Behnke + Gümbel pic, could it be taken later? Gümbel was Kmdr of 348 Div in Northern France from 27.09.42 to 05.02.44. Biblio Verlag only had him as OKH FhrRes after that. Was he Kommandeur der Ersatztruppen II? Sturmgeschütz-Ersatz und Ausbildung-Abteilung 600 was formed at Neiss and moved to Deutsche Eylau in Sept 43 when Behnke assumed command.
Cheers

Hi Freiherr,
nice to meet you, too. You are absolutely right, the time of inspection was in spring 1944 (later than 01. March 1944). StuG-Abtlg. 600 was formed on 26.07.1943 at Neisse and moved to Deutsch Eylau from 07. to 12.08.1943.
Regarding to the function of Gümbel have a look at this site: http://www.lexikon-der-wehrmacht.de/Gli ... nNr152.htm
You will find Stug-Abtl. 600 at the bottom of this site.
In the set of Behnke pics from ebay I was specially interested in the pics showing "HOFFMANN-SCHOENBORN" who took part in the inspection in his function as Kommandeur of Sturmgeschütz-Schule in Burg / Magdeburg.
I succeded to get all the pictures I was interested in...
Cheers, Peter
