I have lists with short bios of all MdR for 1936 and 1938 and a partial list for 1943. They also published complete books of photos of all MdR. Might I suggest that you contact my long time friend Georges Jerome because he got the copies for me and should be able to advise from where they can be found

Thanks, Philmil! Jerome Georges already contacted me and hopefully I can have a look at the 1938 MdR fairly soon.

Reichstag

Postby Andreas Schulz on 27 Sep 2004 10:58

The bios of all Nazi members in the Reichstag 1924 - 1945 you can find in book "Statisten in Uniform" (2004). Also in the book are the names of all NS candidates for the Reichstag 1924 - 1938.

Hello,

Can anyone describe what the deputies of the Reichstag were responsible for? I know that there were many MdR's, but did these deputies control any aspect of the MdR's responsibilities? I have heard that being a member of the Reichstag during the Third Reich was basically a do nothing job, as they mainly provided an audience for Hitler's party speeches. What can anyone add to this?

regards,

Darren

Hello,

Was Albert Speer also a Member of the Reichstag having replaced the deceased
Hermann Kreibel? I did not see either name on the list. Thanks in advance.

Bernhard Rust, who later became Hitler's Education Minister was elected to the Reichstag in 1930.

Walter Funk was elected to the Reichstag in July 1932 but stepped down shortly after the Nazis came to power in 1933 to become a State Secretary at the Ministry of Propaganda.

Baldur von Schirach was a member of the Reichstag from 1932 to 1945.

Dr. Roland Freisler was also a member of the Reichstag from 1933 onwards.

Best regards.

I recommended Kienast book "Grossdeutsche Reichstag" . Recently I got this very rare original book . Exellent source, especially 861 MdR photos.

good bios of mid 30's

Contemporary books

- MdR biographisches Handbuch der Reichstage by Max Schwarz
cover the non NS MdR until 1933 (short bios)
