Once saw a newspaper clipping of actor John Banner aka "Sergeant Schultz" which claimed during World War II he was a model for a recruiting poster for either US Army Air Forces or US Army Paratroopers.
Did he served in US Armed Services during World War II?

As you can see, the caption says it is from a military poster photo shoot.

Here is an article (in which the above photo appeared).
It says Banner served in the Army Air Corps.
