Re: Die Bandenkämpfer - Holders of Bandenkampfabzeichen
I am addressing this question only:
Can someone please tell me if SS-Gruppenfuhrer Hermann Fegelein was a re-
cipient of the Anti-Partisan War Badge?
He did not put in for the badge because he proposed, designed, and lobbied extensively for its incorporation.

Steinhauser Columban, Meister der Gend., Gendarmerie-Einsatz-Kdo z.b.V., 20.10.44, BKAb, HSSPF Weissruthenien (Besitzzeugnis)
Re: Die Bandenkämpfer - Holders of Bandenkampfabzeichen
Thanks, Tom, for the last additions. Updated per today. The mark of 150 is crossed. Total of 152 now.
I've added Uschaf. Kühne, ? / OZAK , as well (per the document).
Steinhauser Columban - very unusual first name !
@all,
there are still unanswered questions on page 19, if you would like to take a look.
@danfcon1,
to my knowledge H. Fegelein wasn't a recipient. I've not seen a photo of him wearing the badge and I couldn't find a reference listing this award for him.
He received the Close Combat Clasp in Silver. That means his combat days with the SS-Kavallerie were counted for this award (no double counting for both awards). Possible only a honorary award during his time as Verbindungsoffizier at the FHQ - but no evidence, and no hint for that.

Re: Die Bandenkämpfer - Holders of Bandenkampfabzeichen
I stand corrected
re Hermann Fegelein on the partisan badge
In Mark Yerger's Riding East, on page 198, he appears to be wearing the badge.
Sorry for any confusion I may have caused with my previous post.

Re: Die Bandenkämpfer - Holders of Bandenkampfabzeichen
Would you be able to post that image?
I do not have Fegelein on my list so it's seems very unlikely to my...but never say never!

added and updated - thanks Tom !
I take it Pz.Gren.Rgt. 3 "Deutschland" / "DR" for Albert Quack (not Pz.Rgt. 3 "T")

Re: Die Bandenkämpfer - Holders of Bandenkampfabzeichen
Hello,
Always happy to see progress this very interesting list.
Here is a new name to add to this list :
Jäger Erich WORM, LW Jäger-Btl. zbV 8, BKAB 11.12.1944
I take advantage of this message to indicate an error of the list : letter S, SCHMIDT Heinrich. This name is mentioned twice. The second registration is correct (with BKAb and BKAs).
Cordial greetings.
Polux

Re: Die Bandenkämpfer - Holders of Bandenkampfabzeichen
Hello Polux,
thanks ! As we try to add sources to verify and confirm the recipients wherever possible, may I ask what's your source for Worm ?
We also know this field is very difficult and complex. Therefore we (that's Bergmolch and me since the re-start together with Marcus ) decided to take recipients on the list also where a source or 100% confirmation couldn't be found yet. Those will be classified as "in research" and will be marked blue or red depending on the status of evidence / base of research.
(process of re-asking for recipients not yet clear is ongoing)
So, even a small hint or piece of info helps to go on with further research.
Heinrich Schmidt - one "red one" down
new entry
Just to get a wider range of coverage (and I will asking "naive" questions first before attempting to do a basic research what I'm looking for) :
Is it known to you, Polux, that this SSPF z.b.V. was connected to the Lorraine region ?
Thanks for any addition
Best regards
Bernd
