How much longer after the photo of Wunsche, Witt & Meyer (at the table), was Witt killed by a naval bombardment?

Well,Wunsche was wounded right after the attack on Bretteville while helping to guide one of the surviving Panthers back onto the road on the night of 8/9 June44 and the Div Cmdr was killed on 14 June44. We don't know what is being discussed in the picture but since Witt is with Wunsche and Meyer they may be talking about the failure of the night attack on the Canadian position at Bretteville. Wunsche and Meyer were in charge of the attack and used the same tactics that they were used to on the Eastern Front for assaulting a fixed position. Night attack with tanks going balls to the walls right into the enemies position using shock and awe and firepower. If that didn't work, then a wide hook around a flank to seal the deal. Both were tried but this was not the Russians and the Canadians gave them a punch in the face, knocking out more than a few Panthers and killing a lot of the 15/25 SS Pz Gren riding on the tanks.
Wunsche and Meyer were true to their word to their young troops though and were at the thick of the battle as promised during training. Say what you will about the WaffenSS but their officers led from the front.
