All the previous input handled, thanks ! Except those where we have no "is" or "definite" according to the procedure established and working. In particular that's my (remaining) 2nd round confirmation requests, p91-Kuno Hoffmann, p141-Emil Vogler, and p129-Ernst Sorge. Bit of time for further thoughts and input as ususal.

Ludwig Heilmann is on the index.
Identified by Ruslan and Terry. We have to agree I think. I do. Found this identical BA pic in my database, tree in the background, lower size with map cut-off. Clearly matches with all other Heilmann pics (the nose!).

Best regards
Bernd

Wolfgang Jugler
Wasn't treated yet. Done now, was identified by colleague Florian Berger. He is not even mentioned by Scherzer ; probably Krätschmer or von Seemen have him (?) ; don't know if this was a "06.05.1945 Dietrich award" or something completely different. If you have more, please add to this thread, which is a non-reply thread !

Could it be Christian Braun? There is a similarity and he is the only NCO whose photo I have seen with the PVA and the attachment on his EK2 ribbon. He also has a Close Combat Clasp but he may have earned that later.

Hello, John,

It is Christian Braun. I have not seen that pic of him before, but the other pic I have of him with the Oakleaf decoration is compares very favorably with the pic of him receiving the KC. He also had four tank-destruction badges at the time of his being awarded the Oakleaf decoration to the KC.

Hope this helps.

Take care.

Maybe we have a Murphy's Law in a kind of "independent life" of pages with different browsers ? :? I've had always page 92 as a significant one with the start of the NAFA pic series (WB Norwegen collection).

2nd round review done up to page 114.
Those two group pics with many personnel weren't yet listed or re-asked. In case somebody would like to confirm and/or to correct, preliminary set on the confirmations list.
KG 53 group pic - I've added a summary of ids and comments on this

Biblio 10 group pic (better quality) , same pic, with persons numbered down the page

This one was identified already. Just a confirmation for Jauer perhaps ?
Friedrich Memmert , presented by Georg Jauer

For any reason (most likely doubted later in the thread) I have a note "check" for Loch.
Herbert Loch
The reference we have - Loch definite (autograph) Herbert Loch

Hello, Bernd,

The picture on page 93 listed as 360.jpg is General Herbert Loch. I think the "check" you had of the picture on page 4 relates to the discussion concerning that pic being more in line with a photograph of General Loch as opposed to the current id being Kurt von der Chevallerie.

I agree with Stauffenberg II that the fact that "von der Chevallerie" is shown wearing glasses argues in favor of it being someone other than von der Chevallerie. I possess several different views of von der Chevallerie and none show him wearing glasses.

Additionally, the facial and skull features of the general on Page 4 argue for that of being General Herbert Loch. I do not think the rhetorical question Stauffenberg II posed was ever satisfactorily answered.

However, I think that there is still sufficient doubt as to the real identity of the depicted officer on Page 4 currently id'd as General Kurt von der Chevallerie.

Just my thought on the subject, as you had indicated that this was an issue yet to be conclusively decided.

Take care, and I will certainly vouch for the id of General Jauer awarding the KC to Friedrich Memmert.

Terry
