Hello, Joerg,
On Page 301, you posted a pic listed as Unk RKT 01. That is a pic of the later Oberst Martin Steglich.
Hope this helps.
Take care.

Re: Knight's Cross Holders Identification
Hello,
the following photograph must be a KC holder. I bought it from a guy, who had bought the collection of an old man, who started his archive during the war. In his collection only photographs of KC winners were found. The stamp on the back is from a photographer from Karlsruhe which was the capital of Baden, a part in the southwest of Germany. I life in Württemberg near Stuttgart. Since 1949 the two parts build Baden-Württemberg. Perhaps this geographic detail helps a little bit. I have this photograph for many years. Nobody ever could help me.

Re: Knight's Cross Holders Identification
Good evening gentlemen,
another problem is the photograph added to this description. I bought it at ebay and I know that it had been shown in this forum. But there is an unknown detail. There is a stamp of a photographer on the back from a place called Kiel, a town in the north of Germany, the capital of a region called Schleswig-Holstein. If the man is born in Kiel, it should be possible to find out the name.
Thank you!

Hello,AlifRafikKhan wrote:Thank you very much Terry. I agree with you, I think it's fake...robertmoore wrote:Hello, AlifRaffiKahn,
I think that pic is a fake. There are too many things wrong with that pic, namely, an enlisted man in the German Army wearing a Luftwaffe Observer's (?) badge or at least a badge denoting Luftwaffe service. A metal breast eagle when they were embroidered, etc.
In my considered opinion, it is a fake.
Hope this helps.
Take care.

I have a funny one too! I bought it on ebay. He is wearing GD cuff title! It is made on after war agfa paper!

Re: Knight's Cross Holders Identification
Hello, again, docarchiv,
I will confirm your question about the id of Foto 35 on Page 303 as that of Kurt Loewer.
Also, your post about the supposed id of the pic listed as Gotthard Fischer, is a picture of General Herbert Loch.
Hope this helps.
Take care.

Re: Knight's Cross Holders Identification
Hello, again, docarchiv,
The general standing next to FM Rommel is Generaloberst Hans von Salmuth.
Hope this helps.
Take care.

PS. A possibility, and I stress that, may be a pic of Walter Kalkhoff, as opposed to that of Martin Steglich. I am not sure that Kalkhoff made officer's status, but given the date of his award (1940) and the fact that he survived the war, would strongly suggest that it may be he. It is difficult to see, if his shoulder boards contain the two pips of a Hauptmann, as Steglich was at the time of his award, or none which would strongly suggest Kalkhoff. Your thoughts?
