Hello,

I don't agree with Warrelmann, could be Mieth or Wegener. My first ideas. I think it is Wegener!

Hi all

see page 310
This is RK Verleihung for Theodor Probst.
In the same ceremony, Oblt. Gottfried Donat was also bestowed the RK.

Denis,

welcome back to the forum !

I have done the administration of your comeback round (captions, index). Of note a few cases.

The Kurt Rohlfs id :
3 Pio officers : Karl Pabst - Christoph Duncker - Kurt Rohlfs
at first glance the man depicted on THE 20. PGD site -> http://www.20pzgrendiv.eu/Personen/Pi20 ... 20Kurt.htm looks different ; but it is the same man IMO, the hair style is significant.

The Theodor Prost id.
you said :
see page 310
This is RK Verleihung for Theodor Probst.
In the same ceremony, Oblt. Gottfried Donat was also bestowed the RK

confirmed ; another pic by docarchiv, identified earlier :
Gren.Rgt. 519 ceremony : Alfred Druffner - Theodor Prost - Erich Jaschke - Gottfried Donat
So, the presenting Offz. should be Gen. Jaschke (behind Prost), although the quality of this particular pic is too bad to say something definitely IMO.

There are two ids now - shifted to the confirmations list :
Heinz Ewald ? or Otto Debus ?

page 313 : 38 KiB - Wolfgang Darius ?
I also don't agree to Darius.

/ Bernd

Hi Bernd,

Seriously great job you and others have done! I am forever grateful.

This is not Abraham in our humble opinion. Terry Moore and I have decided it looks more like GenMj Warrelmann. An eichenlaubträger very late in the war.

Cheers

Hello Freiherr,

thank you.. ..hm, this is an interesting and multiple case you point to. I'm not sure if we have one or two cases because this has potential for confusion I think.

The photo captioned Warrelmann you provided the previous page (no source.. :x ) is to underline your argument. docarchiv and John say No, this doesn't show Warrelmann, it is swords holder Wilhelm Wegener. Right ?

I agree with the colleagues. Arguments (by chance both relevant pics I have in mind are on page 301) :
1) identified -> Wilhelm Wegener
a) the same man for me
b) the very same occasion ! for me (he is exhausted, eyes !); EL ; the style of wearing the cap ! it is on his right side down

2) the third from left on this pic is the later Genmaj. and OL holder Hinrich Warrelmann

result 1 : if not convinced we need more Wegener and Warrelmann pics.

The real case / case 2 !?
This is not Erich Abraham ?
Do the others share this objection ? The argumention used above is out of the play in my point of view.

result 2 : can we have more Abraham pics ? do I have to put this on the confirmations list ?

Hello,

I would be carefull with Rohlfs. The head is different, the ears seem to be different. Maybe I am wrong.

Darius ID: The ears are not the same.
Rohlfs ID: The hair and face shape are not the same.

Could`t be Heinz Ewald. His last rank was only Leutnant, but the pic shows an Oberleutnant. When I compare it with my collection I come to the same answer, probably Otto Debus.

I have to agree to the objections expressed. The man to the right doesn't seem to be Rohlfs..!?

Hi Bernd,

Here's Abraham. He was such a dapper man who reminds me of Dirk Bogarde that it's hard to imagine him being scruffy. ( Source of left hand pic from this forum itself, middle is so generic I am hard pressed to know from where. The right was from Ebay -- I know it is not good enough but most of the time sellers are so unknowledgeable they wouldn't know what they are selling, let alone remember what they sold!)

I am not a good student on this thread so I did not see Wegener being identified ( I promise I will be better once I am done with Heer and LW generals and KM admirals, not to mention SS and RAD 8O 8O ). Sure, same man. I didn't think of Wegener because you rarely see him without all his decorations.

Cheers
Freiherr

Hi,

Page 175 - 2.jpg - may it be Alois Weber?

and page 335 - yhst-321 WH RKT.jpg - bad quality, but I will suppose it maybe Friedrich Fangohr - commander of 122. Infanterie-Division (ears and smile wrinkles matched in my view)
