Re: NS Frauenschaft - Ranks and Organization
Hello,
found another (potential) Hauptabteilungsleiterin of the Reichsfrauenführung: historian Dr. Ruth Hildebrand. At least the caption of the following picture from Jan 12th, 1944 says so. Perhaps the successor of Erika Semmler in the department 'Kultur' though at this date Semmler was still alive?

Re: NS Frauenschaft - Ranks and Organization
Hello,
here are pics of the first two heads of the NS-Frauenschaft, Elsbeth Zander and Lydia Gottschewski. Taken from Arendt et al. (1995, p.383, 401).
Additionally one of Guida Diehl who played an important role as a theorist of the NS-Frauenschaft for a few years in the early 1930s (Arendt et al., 1995, p.391). More on her (in German) here http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guida_Diehl

Re: NS Frauenschaft - Ranks and Organization
Nice 1944 photo there showing the NSF badge and wearing a cuff title or rank title?
I was mad as hell when I first saw that photo of the senior women leaders in the 1936 Jahrbuch, and saw it wasn't captioned. Such a shame! Ah well, one of those things I guess. You can't have it all too easy.
Regards
Matt

Re: NS Frauenschaft - Ranks and Organization
Hi Matt,
I think it's a cuff title Ruth Hildebrand is wearing.
Anyone with an idea who's the elegant lady next to Scholtz-Klink? She's not wearing a NSF uniform and with the number of uniformed Frauenschaft members in the audience it must be somebody of international importance. Also many of the women are touching one of their ears as if they had earphones for a simultaneous translation. (Or it was a really boring address?) Source: http://www.ebay.de

To continue the shame here's another shot that supposedly shows the whole gang. Again without any captionMatt Gibbs wrote:Nice 1944 photo there showing the NSF badge and wearing a cuff title or rank title?

Re: NS Frauenschaft - Ranks and Organization
So what we got here, Torsten? We got (from left to the right; sitting) Erna Röpke (Head of the Reichsmütterdienst), Else Paul, Erika Kirmsse (Presse, Propaganda, Film, Rundfunk), Scholtz-Klink, Annemarie Hanne (stellvertretende Amtsleiterin des Frauenamtes der DAF), and we got (from left to the right; "on their feet") Rosa-Marie "Rosel" Kohnle (Organisation und Personal) and, of course, Erika Semmler.Heimatschuss wrote:Hello Vikki!
Nice 'family' photo of the Reichsfrauenführung that presumably shows Scholtz-Klink, Else Paul and all the Hauptabteilungsleiterinnen of the RFF.
But who is who? The woman on the extreme right is obviously Erika Semmler from department V, compare http://forum.axishistory.com/viewtopic. ... 7#p1460937

Re: NS Frauenschaft - Ranks and Organization
Hello Igor,
fantastic additions to our photo collection!!
Where on earth did you find all those portait pictures?
I've a very few biographical details more now:
Rosel Kohnle
* Heidelberg 1908
Kohnle had already been active in the Reichsfrauenführung duríng the reign of Gottfried Krummacher (Livi, 2012, p.168, footnote 476).
Martha Warnecke
* Altona 1883
Warnecke entered NSDAP in 1931, prior to her party career she'd worked as a (school?) teacher (Livi, 2012, p.168, footnote 477).
Erika Kirmsse
* Naumburg September 1910
Kirmsse had joined the NSDAP already in 1931 (Livi, 2012, p.175, footnote 501).
Erika Semmler
She became a member of the NSDAP only in 1937 (Livi, 2012, p.177, footnote 511).
Erna Röpke
Röpke held a degree in medicine (Livi, 2012, p.156).

Re: NS Frauenschaft - Ranks and Organization
Hello,
Kultur - Erziehung - Schulung. She's mentioned with that rank and position in a newspaper article (N.N., 1944) from July 1944.
. Presumably for simplicity a photo of Hildebrand taken a short time before her assuming the new position was given to the press.
After WWII she worked as a middle school teacher in Westphalia for decades. There's an interview with her from 1989 I've still
got to get (Hildebrand, 1992).

there's confirmation now that Dr. Ruth Hildebrand was indeed the successor of Erika Semmler as HauptabteilungsleiterinHeimatschuss wrote: found another (potential) Hauptabteilungsleiterin of the Reichsfrauenführung: historian Dr. Ruth Hildebrand. Re: NS Frauenschaft - Ranks and Organization
It was a quite arduous task to undertake, but I have managed with the help of my pro vigor to identify the principal lady next-next to Scholtz-Klink (from l to r): it's Josefa 'Meta' Bottke, who was Stellv. Leiterin der NSF under Dr. jur. et rer. pol. Gottfried Krummacher.Heimatschuss wrote: ↑18 Jul 2011, 17:38To continue the shame here's another shot that supposedly shows the whole gang.
