Re: RFSS in France
Hello Georges Jerome,
the resettlement of the "Volksdeutschen" from Bessarabia were taken in September/ October 1940. These Pictures show teh resettlement (Umsiedlung) of the Germans of Wolhynien (December 1939). There is a picture with Himmler on the bridge at Przemysl greeting the Volksdeutschen at the beginning of the resettlement, an later (beginning of 1940) when the last resettler comes to Germany.

Re: RFSS in France
There is obviously a mix of photos here. The French photos could not have been taken before May 1940 because that is when the Germans invaded France, and certainly not after January 1942 because that is when Wolff was promoted to Obergruppenführer. He is Gruppenführer in these photos. Another photo (not here) from this set in France shows Himmler leaving the Grand Hotel in Belfort. I have a number of other photos of him outside the hotel and in the doorway on this occasion.

Re: RFSS in France
Many thanks, guys! Very useful and important additions!
I might add that on the picture #9 (4 from right) it's Joachim Peiper (detached from staff in august 1941) and Ulrich Greifelt was promoted to Gruf. also in august 1941. Can we reduce time interval to may 1940 - august 1941?
Best wishes
Ruslan

Re: RFSS in France
The pictures of Himmler in France was made before January 1st, 1941. In "Der Dienstkalaneder Heinrich Himmlers 1941/42" is no entry about a visit in France or Elsace-Lorraine before August 1941. So these pictures were taken in 1940.

Hmm, If my thoughts are correct, all photos, excluding pictures from Przemysl, taken in september of 1940. And yes this is most likely East France.

Re: RFSS in France
It seems to be Werner Lorenz sitting next to Peiper and not Heissmeyer. What do you think?

Re: RFSS in France
It was on my thousands of "to be ID'ed list"..... but at Ruslan's invitation, and you are spot on.....
100% sure it was Obstlt. i.G. Hans Speth Ia XXVII. Korps and then Gen. d. Inf. Alfred Wäger Kmdr. Gen. XXVII. Korps. They were based in eastern France consistent with Georges' diagnosis.
This will cut the time frame of the french pics back a bit as Speth was Ia XXVII. Korps until 30.09.40.
Cheers
