Stg-43 MP-44 Database

#1

Post by Xavier » 23 Mar 2004, 22:13

Well, here I am again, with another long, long range project-

Purpose is to assemble a database of all possible german assault rifle serial numbers, to try to determine production data, and whatever more info comes along.

please, beside serial number, include as much data as possible as there are multiple variations.

I need, as now:
+ serial number (just above the magazine well)
+ YOM (usually a coupe digits after the serial number)
+ designation (on the receiver, next to the charging handle),
+ finish (parkerized, blued, clear, etc)
+ sight base configuration (plain, telescopic sight flare, etc etc)
+ any special muzzle configuration (out of the ordinary)

demil weapons data welcome.

best regards

Thanks a lot for the Info...!!

I am still trying to figure out how to organize the table, due to the difference in designation and YOM (year of manufacture)

best regards

Hey Xavier

Ive been browsing through the website and it all contains informations to the citizens of the town Grenå. The emails ive found are all to diferent departments in the cityhall. None for a webmaster so far.

The site is all about information to that towns inhabitans, you know daycare, social services and stuff like that.

So I guess that someone with access to the server has used it for a bit of private buisness.
Could be nice to know if yabint got the url from a forum somewhere.
Cause i would be reluctant to contact the cityhall and ask. Dont want to get someone in to trouble:) "hey, can you help me get in contact with the dude that have put a pdf with serials for german assault rifltes".

In these times of terror, just imagine the reaction from them 8)

But do I have good news for you. Ive took a look at that pdf file and in the properties for it, ive found the name of the author of that pdf.
His name is Claus Espeholt, and he has a website (http://claus.espeholt.dk/) wich contain the information that will make you happy:)

Enjoy

Xavier,

The website I got it from is: http://claus.espeholt.dk/mp44.htm

Claus is answering emails, as I just placed an order with him for a new front sight hood.

Yabint:

Never received an answer from Claus, But Now I think the figure, according to special interest publications book on the MP44 would be around 420.000 to 440,000 guns.

The only contradiction (mentioned int he book) is that there are not mauser produced weaposn on the heer acceptance register, and there are a couple photos on the book of mauser produced weapons, one even on a test firing stand for sustained firing...

check this thread for a link to my mp44 pics:

Nice collection Xavier!

Are they live, or deactivated? http://www.marstar.ca has MG-34 bipods otherwise they do crop up on ebay from time to time.

Also have you read:
The German Assault Rifle 1935 - 1945
By Peter R. Senich
ISBN 0-87364-400-X

He gives a list of production numbers as well.

Pics of my MP44's: http://www.gunpics.net/german/mp44/mp44.html

Edit: get the marstar address correct
