DETAILS
The Warthegau badge is not an official NSDAP Gautraditions-Abzeichen. It is a "Ehrenzeichen für Verdienste im Volkstumskampf". The famous never-instituted diamonds piece found at Schloss Klessheim near Salzburg in 1945 most likely was planned to have been awarded, but never was. It is truly a one of a kind treasure.
The badges were presented by Partiegenossen Arthur Greiser of Reichgau Wartheland. Many have thought for years that it was an official NSDAP Gau tradition badge, but it isn't.
