Hi!

...return with the last transport of POW from Russia (450 soldiers) on 15.1.56. For his family(and GFM Keitel) he was missing in Kurland and the first information that he was alive came 1954.

I have a further question on "another Keitel" (I already though this thread would have been about him.)

Is there any information available on Wilhelm Keitel's brother's son (nephew)? All I known that in spring 1942 he was Oberleutnant in 18. Armee. In March 1942 he was a German liaison officer in Finnish Combat Detachment P which was formed for the conquering of Suursaari island on Gulf of Finland. What were his first names? Any information on his career?

Harri,

In the Finnish award documents, there is an Oberleutnant Hans Joachim Keitel listed as receiving the Order of the Cross of Liberty, 3rd Class with Swords on 5 April 1942.

Best regards,
Shawn

Generalfeldmarschall Wilhelm Keitel's youngest son, Hans-Georg, died on 18 July 1941 in a field hospital after being mortally wounded the day before by a Russian aircraft attack.

Hi Paul!

I can confirm that Hans-Georg Keitel transferred to the Art.Rgt. (mot.) 29, ID mot. 29 in June 1941 with the permission of his father.
