Lale Andersen song missing!

Postby Petterson on 30 Nov 2004 09:33

What songs performed by Lale Andersen where popular in the Third Reich? Others than than "Lili Marleen"?

I am trying to find that one particular song which was used in propaganda film where Germans are carrying swastika flagg to top of the Eiffel Tower in 1940.

I have not seen the wochenschau on that, nor a film clip.
But . . . I find it hard to believe that she sang "Wenn die Soldaten durch die Statt marchieren"; that was just nor her style.
She sang mostly slow moving and sentimental songs.
But . . . i could be wrong. So correct me.

In that film the song was actually performed by military band.

And how about Lale Andersen? Listen to this:

I believe that her rendition of Drei Rote Rosen..... (Three Red Roses...) - was very successful. At least it was a favourite that Fraulein Eva Braun played over and over, in the bunker - before she became Mrs. Hitler.

That could very well be; it definitely does not sound like Lale, her voice is more sultry.
But . . . .I could be wrong
