Vehicles with unit markings

Discussions on the vehicles used by the Axis forces.

StuG IV markings

Postby spannermann » 11 Oct 2006 19:34

These are not military markings, but were painted on the original armour plate as an aid to assembly in the civilian steel works that fabricated the StuG IV hull originally.

Hello

Interesting photo but of 4.Panzerdivision and not 3.Panzerdivision. The bear is the emblem of Pz.Rgt.35 and the additional divisional symbol.

Hi Francey.
I think your truck is a Hansa-Lloyd DG 3 tonner, later to become Borgward.

The Barenfuhrer Pz III is most odd. Looks like an early Panzer III, yet is at the end of winter 1943/44. OK, they still had a Bef Pz I as rear link from PzNachrAbt. Odd, very odd.

Hello Dolezal and list,

The picture with the car and trailer interests me, as the car is a Skoda Supurb, is there any chance to get a better scan of this picture??

Hi Alex:
I too noted the Skoda but you beat me to the identification.
Isn't it amazing that the car is in such "Superb" condition at the end of the war?? Not that many made in the first place and here seems to be one almost unmarked after so many years of war.
