Hi,
I found this Picture in an old Tread on this Site!
It shows the destroyed Berlin Cathedral and an WW I Tank in Front!
I found this Picure at Corbis.com too!
Is this a fake Picture ore real?
If it`s real, can someone tell me about the backround, or where I can get more Information!

the picture is real, I am guessing, but I think the tank was taken out a museum and used as a stationary pillbox during the battle of berlin
best regards

there are no proofs that Mk V were actually used in combat. A number of Mk Vs were taken in the early stages of Barbarossa, and at least an ex-Russian Mk.V, captured during the German advance into Russia, became part of the Zeughaus collection in Berlin. AFAIK the tank never moved away. In any case, it was not in running condition.
Even if the tanks are shot up, this is no proof of actual combat use. In the middel of battle, Soviet gunners would shot at them, just in case.
