May Herr Trettner rest in peace, it is a shame that he passed away a day before his 99 birthday!

Also does anyone know if there are anymore Generals still alive?

Two years ago I wrote to Trettner... because he signed in 1942 the permission to marriage of my grandfather... I sent the documents to him and he was very amused of this. He also told me something about the unit of my grandfather. Trettner was an very honourable man till his last days. As Heeresinspekteur a.D. he saw his comrades from the 2. ww ashamed by the gemran Bundeswehr. And this he told to Struck. He never wanted to hear again from the Bundeswehr till the Bw remembers her traditions. He is still a great man for me.
