Info on Gestapo Officers

Hello All,

I am looking for any extra information on these SS Officers. I would like to have their SS numbers NSDAP numbers and if possible their fate. Thanks for your time.

Referat IV-1 „Opposition“: SS-Untersturmführer Josef Didinger, Sachgebiete 1a) Linksbewegung einschließlich Presse und Hetzschriften, Rundfunkverbrechen; 1b) "Widerstandsbewegung, Bandenbekämpfung, Reaktion, Königs- und Badoglioanhänger, Liberalismus", 1c) "Arbeitsvertragsbruch, Kriegsgefangene, gemeinschaftswidriges Verhalten von Italienern".
Referat IV-4 „Weltanschauliche Gegner“: SS-Untersturmführer Josef Didinger, Sachgebiet 4a: Politische Kirchen, Sekten, Freimaurer; IV-4b, "Referent für Judenangelegenheiten" SS-Sturmbannführer Fritz Bosshammer.
Referat IV-2 Sabotage: SS-Untersturmführer Kurt Lahr, Sachgebiete 2a Attentate, Sprengstoffe und Waffen, politische Fälschungen; 2b Gegenabwehr (Feindagenten, Gegenfunkspiele).
Referat IV-3 Abwehr: Regierungsassessor und SS-Hauptsturmführer Franz Schwinghammer, Sachgebieten Spionageabwehr, Industriesicherung, Werkschutz, Grenzangelegenheit.
Referat IV-6: Regierungsassessor und SS-Hauptsturmführer Franz Schwinghammer, Sachgebieten 6a, Haft- und Schutzhaftkarteien, sowie 6b: Schutzhaft, Arbeitserziehungslager.
Referat IV-5: SS-Sturmbannführer Dr. Fritz Kranebitter, Kontakt zu deutschen Zivilpersonen in Italien, zur NSDAP, zur faschistisch-republikanischen Partei und zur Presse; Personenschutzmaßnahmen und „Sonderaufgaben“.

The officers and organisational data in this post relates to the BdS Verona, 1944-1945.

In fact Kranebitter was Leiter IV and Schwinghammer his deputy.

Hello Satasga,

This is what I've scraped together on Kranebitter.

Dr. Jur. Friedrich ‘Fritz’ Kranebitter: Austrian police-officer.
Born on 1-7-1903 in Wildschut(Oberdonau).
Member SS(nr. 340.578).
SS-Sturmbannführer und Regierungsrat der Polizei.
He was employed within the Staatspolizeileitstelle in Vienna.
With Einsatzgruppe C he served in the Ukraine.
From the beginning of 1943 till October 1943 he was Kommandeur der Sipo und des SD(KdS)in Charkow.
From the end of 1943 till the beginning of 1945 he was head of Amt IV(Gestapo, Gegner und Abwehr)within the Staff of the BdS in Italy.
At the same time he was also chief of Referat IV-5 (contact with German civilians in
Italy, with the nazi-party, with the fascist party in Italy and with the press)within
Amt IV at the Staff from the BdS in Italy.
He received the KVK1mS.
Died on 20-2-1957 in Linz.

I know, the posting is very old, but:

SS Hauptsturmführer Franz Schwinghammer
* 7. March 1911 in Innsbruck, Austria, + 11. September 1986 in Innsbruck, Austria
After the war POW in Naples, London District Cage, Berenchurch Hall (Colchester) and Fornham Park (Bury St. Edmunds). POW 209166. Returned to Austria in 1948.

Who knows more about him or who knows, which sources would provide more informations?

Hello Willi,

Excuses are not needed when you bring something alive again. I also did forgot about this thread so it's good to see that somebody did find it again.
Here's some info on Didinger:
Josef Didinger.
Born on 8-3-1914 at ??.
Member NSDAP(nr. 3.589.104)and member SS(nr. 385.568).
SS-Untersturmführer.
At the end of 1943 he became head of the section IV-1 within Amt IV (Gestapo)at the Staff from the BdS in Italy.
He was also responsable for the subsections IV-1a, IV-1b and IV-1c.
And he also headed section IV-4 and subsection IV-4a within Amt IV at the Staff from the BdS in Italy.

Kurt Lahr.
Born on 16-2-1912 at ??
Member SS(nr. 52.126).
SS-Untersturmführer.
At the end of 1943 he became head of section IV-2 and subsections IV-2a IV-2b within Amt IV at the Staff from the BdS in Italy.
